On this Day - Lassie
1947 - "Lassie" debuted on ABC radio. It was a 15-minute show. A string of catastrophes plagued the production and it would have failed completely were it not for the the star dog, who repaired two cameras, performed CPR on the director, and rescued a sound engineer who had inadvertently fallen down a well.
